National Junior Honor Society

In order to be inducted into this prestigious organization, students must be nominated by one or more teachers.  This nomination process is to be kept confidential.  Once nomination forms are received, a teacher committee reviews each student's form, considering not only the recommendation of the nominating teacher, but also the student's grades and behavior.  The qualifications for membership are:


            I.  Attendance at Induction Ceremony for new members (January)
                where students pledge themselves with the following oath:       

I pledge myself

To uphold the high purposes

Of this society

To which I have been selected,

Striving in every way,

To make its ideals

The ideals of my life.


            II.   Maintain overall average of 85 in all classes, core and elective.

            III.  Zero (0) unexcused absences/tardies from monthly Chapter

            IV.  Model exemplary scholarship, leadership, service, character,
                   and citizenship

            V.    Participation in one or more service projects each year.

            VI.  There is no financial obligation for membership in this

to continue demonstrating these qualities.
